Blue Man Group

We had an awesome time! We get there and there is a guy called Mike Rehlm there doing the scratchy record thing. As he moved the records back and forth the video's that he had would do funny stuff. He played all music from the 80's which was really good. Tom got us great seats so we were not far from the stage. I don't like being on the floor seats because you can't see over peoples heads; so we were in the front row on the side at the VanAndel Arena.

Then the Blue Man Group got up there and they do not say one word throughout the whole show. They are hilarious with all their facial expressions and body movements. When it was time to introduce the band, they got two people out of the audience to read out of a notebook the list of names.

The group did an awesome job and all the percussion equipment that they use is amazing. Different tubes and pvc pipes and other equipment. They even did a scene where they put fake televisions on their head and that was hilarious.

The show was more than I thought it would be. I knew there would be different sounds and music. Did not know that they had other people playing drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals, skits and all kinds of different light shows along with it and costumes.

I would recommend this to anyone who can stand to listen to music really loud. The comedy and entertainment that they provided was worth it. We were laughing so hard sometimes. So hard that you stomp your feet and hit your leg because it was hilarious. There was a guy behind us and his laugh was fun too.

Anyway, gotta get some stuff done around the house. Enjoy your day! God bless!

Grand Haven Lighthouse

What a beautiful day! The sun is shining brightly and it is warm out! Makes one look forward to Spring.

My daughter Amanda and her boyfriend Matt and his friend Jake went out to Grand Haven this afternoon. They enjoyed themselves out there and I am showing you some pictures from their little trip.

Makes me wish that I went with them to take pictures myself. I look at the Lighthouse and see the people close to the water and think that they are crazy for going out on that pier. Hope they don't fall in. Then I think of what a cool picture that one person is taking of the ice build up on the lighthouse. That would be cool!

Matt and Jake on Lake Michigan.

Amanda and Matt out at the lakeshore. Looks windy and they said that it was.

Jake is up top of an ice build up waiting for the two to get up there and the next picture is what they saw when they got there.

Looks like they had a great time out there. The sunshine made it a really nice day! God makes many things beautiful!

Family Video Still in Making

Thought you would like to take a look at something that was put together. There is one picture that got rotated the wrong way. This is just a copy and is still being made. I will have to add more pictures to it eventually. All this takes time to do, but is a lot of fun. I actually do not get the credit for this part. Amanda's friend Lea is the one that put this part together for us. I will eventually finish it. Hope that you all enjoy! A lot of it is of when we got married in August 2006. We wanted it to be relaxed and had a Hawaiian Theme type wedding. Lots of fun and lots of comments on how relaxed everyone felt.

WORK

Hi, just wanted to tell you how my day at work went. First off, I work in a nursing rehab facility in Wyoming, Michigan right now. I am only on call, so I usually pick up when they need me to work if I am not previously doing anything. I have been working as a Therapy Tech for the last four years. I was getting a couple people down that I needed to see for physical therapy and there was this adorable elderly lady. She was SOOOOOO CUTE! I asked her if she wanted to go down to therapy and get some exercise and she said, "No, my legs are too tired." Well, then I proceeded to tell her we should go for a little ride in her wheelchair. She liked that and we got to the therapy room and she liked the room and the sun was shining bright in there. Well, this cute little lady was slightly confused. I asked her if she would extend her leg for me and she just didn't understand or want to. So, then I tried to give her my hand to kick so she would see and understand better, then she only did one rep. Well, then in my crazy little head I got the idea that she should kick my butt. I said to her, (will not give name-but it is a neat one), -----if I squat down so you can kick my butt, will you do it? She said, "YES" and proceeded to giggle with a big smile. So, I squatted down and she tried to reach my bottom and everyone around us started to laugh. All the patients thought that was funny. Those are the situations that makes one's day a happy one. Just one little special moment, smile, or saying can make someones day.
I get such a joy out of taking care of people and being able to make them laugh or just to help them when they cannot help themselves. That gives me great joy!

In two months I am taking my Certified Nurse Aide training again, because it has been four years since I have had that. I never renewed or knew that I had to tell the state that I changed my address or name so never got anything forwarded to me. So, now I have to take the class over. When I am finished, I am going to go back to work with my friends in Allendale. That will be a lot closer to home too. I won't like the fact that I have to work weekends and some holidays again, but, it is something I want to do. I don't mind being home and doing things here, but sometimes I just want to get out of the house. Plus, the best way to do that is to go take care of people. That makes me happy too.

FUNNY OR STUPIDITY

You won't believe what I was doing. I sit here laughing about it and wishing I was at the place taking the pictures instead of what I was doing. Anyway, here goes: I was taking of a picture of my dog laying in our cat bed. Thought that was a riot! A lot of times the cat is on the dog bed so maybe Sadie thought she should lay on the cat bed. Back to what I was doing: I was taking pictures of places and lighthouses in Bruce County off of the WGVU tv station. The pics don't come in that clear but I was having fun playing with my camera. I wish I was there in shorts, short sleve shirt, sandals feeling the breeze off of the lakeshore. I love taking pictures and wish that I was there enjoying the area.

Detroit Red Wings

Hello There! First we started off the night at the Hockeytown Restaurant. We had a great time there. As you can see from some of the pics there were some aweseome Harley Davidsons all painted and looking sharp and shiney. My son Shawn is with his friend Connor there. Mitchell and Mason are in the first pic together. That was from Mason's school program. Mason with the spiked hair at Hockeytown Restaurant sitting by the Detroit Tigers Harley. Notice the Red Wings Harley. That has a hockey goalie mask on the back fender.

We had a blast at the game. Amanda sat down with her boyfriend close to the glass area and we had the "nosebleed" section-which did not matter, we had a great time, plus our noses did not bleed. LOL The game was not very good but we had fun! The boys were a riot. Screaming and clapping and whoopin it up! We went to Hockeytown restaurant before the game and shuttled over and back. All an experience that we all loved. While we were at Hockeytown restaurant, my daughter Amanda, got a beautiful promise ring. Her boyfriend Matt wanted to make a promise that he would stay committed to her.
On the way out of the game something interesting happened that I have been thinking about. We were walking down the huge stair case and Shawn (my 9yr old son) said to me, "Mom, why are those guys holding cups?" I had to explain that some people are asking for money because they don't have any and they might want a drink or possibly some food. I am greatful to God because we have not had to experience that for ourselves. We have been very lucky people. Very priveledged, fortunate, wealthy in so many ways! I am greatful that we have jobs and a nice home and all the basic needs that we need to live every day of our lives. I am greatful that we are able to walk, see, smell, touch, not disabled in any way shape or form.

Something to look forward to

Hey There,

We are all going to the Detroit Red Wing game on Friday. We will have so much fun. It is a first for all of us. Amanda's boyfriend's parents got the two of them tickets to go to this game on for a Christmas present. When we got together with his parent's his Dad asked if we wanted to go and he would try to get tickets. So, all of us and Matt's family are all going to the game. We are going to go to hockey town restaurant and have some food before the game. Then shuttle over to the game. After the game I will be driving us all back because Tom (my husband) has Coast Guard weekend. He is still in the reserves and has to put his weekend in. I will update all of you to let you know how everything went.

Today on the news I seen that horrible report on the accident over on Beltline about the car going under the semi. Not good! That just goes to prove that we need to live every day to the fullest and grasp every moment that we possibly can.

God Bless!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Happy Valnetines Day to you! Hope that your day is filled with love and laughter. I was scrolling through my pictures and remember taking one that was from the back yard at my other house. I love taking pictures and I really like how this one turned out. Thought I would share it with all of you. Reminds me of what is soon to come and I am excited for Spring to happen so I can work out in the yard again.

New to Blogging!

Hello Everyone! What a beautiful day full of sunshine today. I actually went into town (Allendale) and had to wear my sunglasses! I loved every part of that! That sunshine was so nice and bright today. We have had so much snow here lately that the sunshine was welcomed "warmly". I have been taking some pictures down the long driveway of the wintry weather. There is such a nice blanket of snow on the trees. Here are a few pictures from my yard. I really enjoy being out in the country life. It is so peaceful that I can always hear the birds chirping and watch the animals roam around. We have serveral bunnies, deer, turkey, squirrels, our dog and sometimes the neighbor dog. Sometimes I can even hear the neighbor cows! LOL
Well, hope everyone has a wonderful day! I will have fun learning this new blogging thing!
